This course is designed to teach certified divers how to safely utilize side-mounted primary
cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted configuration.
Prerequisites for Recreational sidemount:
- Full personal sidemount harness and wing (XDeep Stealth 2.0 recommended)
- Two cylinders with independent regulators with 1m and 1.5 or 2.1m hoses
- SMB with a 15m minimum spool
- 18 years old (15 with parental consent)
- Open Water Diver
- Full personal sidemount harness and wing (XDeep Stealth 2.0 recommended)
- Two cylinders with independent regulators with 1m and 1.5 or 2.1m hoses
- SMB with a 15m minimum spool
- Rear bag for ancillay equipment and spares
- 60m reel with emergency SMB
- Spare mask
- Wrist slate and/or pocket slate, wet notes
- Backup computer or bottom timer
- Backup cutting device
- Jon line
- Stage cylinder 5.7/11 litre with deco regulator
- 18 years old (15 with parental consent)
- Open Water Diver

Course outline:
- 2 hours theory session and exam
- 2 hours equipment configuration
- Pool session
- 2 shore dives
- 2 boat dives (not covered in course costs)
