This course is designed to teach certified divers how to safely utilize side-mounted primary
cylinders as an alternative to the traditional back-mounted configuration. 

Prerequisites for Recreational sidemount

  • Full personal sidemount harness and wing (XDeep Stealth 2.0 recommended)
  • Two cylinders with independent regulators with 1m and 1.5 or 2.1m hoses
  • SMB with a 15m minimum spool
  • 18 years old (15 with parental consent)
  • Open Water Diver
Prerequisites for Technical sidemount:

  • Full personal sidemount harness and wing (XDeep Stealth 2.0 recommended)
  • Two cylinders with independent regulators with 1m and 1.5 or 2.1m hoses
  • SMB with a 15m minimum spool
  • Rear bag for ancillay equipment and spares
  • 60m reel with emergency SMB
  • Spare mask
  • Wrist slate and/or pocket slate, wet notes
  • Backup computer or bottom timer
  • Backup cutting device
  • Jon line
  • Stage cylinder 5.7/11 litre with deco regulator
  • 18 years old (15 with parental consent)
  • Open Water Diver
Course costs: $695 pp Recreational sidemount

*$795 Technical sidemount, with extra dives POA.


Course outline:

  • 2 hours theory session and exam
  • 2 hours equipment configuration
  • Pool session 
  • 2 shore dives
  • 2 boat dives (not covered in course costs)
