Thank you for enquiring about the PADI Rescue Course!

Rescue is a practical, tough but fun course and most students say that it increases their confidence and their dive skills by miles. You’ll be demanded physically, but you’ll leave the course with new knowledge about your diving habits, views and the safety of others. ?

There are some prerequisites to the Adelaide Scuba PADI Rescue course: a First aid certificate gained within the last 12 months, or PADI Emergency First Response & O2 Provider program within 24 months. We always run these before a Rescue course, so if this is something you are interested in please contact us! You will also need to be a certified Advanced Open Water Diver, or at the very least have completed a PADI Underwater Navigation Adventure Diver certification.

There is some online learning for you to complete before you begin the Rescue course and then some pool training over a couple of evenings. Rescue skills are then completed shore diving over the weekend. Skills include dealing with tired and panicked divers on the surface, underwater and from a boat or shore; searching for missing divers and dealing with unresponsive divers. Once you have mastered skills we throw some scenario exercises at you so that you can practice applying those skills in a simulated real-life incident. Be prepared to stop, think and act!

Please feel free to give us a call if you have any questions at all about the course.
